So the Gary Lineker scandal, the Gary Lineaker clash with the BBC has been one of the biggest news stories in the past week in in Britain.

Really to recap it started with Gary Linnaker sending a tweet comparing the UK government's immigration rhetoric to 1930s Germany.

For this potential breach of impartiality, he was stepped down from match of the day, he was

suspended but he's been reinstated this week and the BBC has agreed to review its social media guidelines

Paul some sometimes when I've been looking at the coverage of this story I feel like I'm going a bit mad

I mean all of a sudden you have all these kind of

Metropolitan elite liberals saying how much they love free speech

They're standing in solidarity with Gary Lillicher as if he's some

kind of Rosa Parks civil rights figure just because he's been stepped down from a sports

program essentially.

I mean, isn't this route really about BBC impartiality,

who it applies to, and whether the BBC can enforce it

in the social media age.

Isn't that the issue here, not free speech?

I think the row is largely confected, isn't it?

I mean, it's been really interesting to see, you know, as you said, all of the kind of Metro Libs suddenly
