Well, hello there, top teachers. We are your hosts, Michelle Emerson and Bridget Spackman, and we are here to make your life easier by helping you master your time, organization, and productivity as a teacher.

0:12.7

If you have been a long time listener, then you already know, Bridget and I have a lot in common, but we're also very different people just at our core. So in today's

0:23.3

episode, we're going to chat about those differences and how they manifest in our motivations

0:29.1

and desires to get things done. But first, let's listen to a TSA from Jamie. Jamie says,

0:35.1

I once was very goal-oriented and organized. Now I feel I am stuck in

0:41.1

scheduling mode constantly. I teach, tutor, coach, and have a family for kids who are all

0:47.3

involved in sports. I'm scheduled to the T from 7 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. I find a lunch and I find at lunch and preps I'm not getting as

1:12.7

but having a hard time balancing it and staying productive, where to start. Thanks, ladies.

1:19.3

Well, Jamie, I would say the first step is called acceptance. Listen, here's what comes to mind

1:24.7

when I hear that. I don't think there's anything wrong with being in

1:29.5

quote unquote scheduling mode. I think we all have periods of our life that are like that. And we have

1:35.0

to rely on having a very regimented, scheduled life in order to wear all of these hats and be

1:42.8

able to complete these responsibilities.

1:45.5

And sometimes that's the goal, right?

1:47.6

I feel like the goal is just getting through those times.

1:51.4

And we need to accept that in order to do that, other things have to take a back seat.

1:57.3

And so maybe pursuing other goals outside of just maybe these work roles and your family

2:04.0

roles, they might need to be put on the back burner. That doesn't mean forever. That just means

2:08.6

for right now, especially if you have kids of a certain age that are involved in a lot of sports,
