D.E.A., Special Agent Joe Piersante talks about the dangers he faced on his first tour

in Afghanistan.

I would say probably that first tour was on about ten missions or so, ten to twelve,

and only two times I did not at the fire of my gun.

You know, because you got to figure, you're behind enemy lines, this is their money.

So they're going to fight like hell to hold on to their money.

And the problem was the area we ran the first tour of Pangeway, a lot of emplaced IEDs.

So a lot of people were getting messed up with IEDs.
