0:23.9	time talking about what it means to be a godly dad. Now, I know many of you are fathers, and if you're
0:30.5	not, do not check out. There's all kind of principles you could learn, or maybe it's a better way
0:34.4	to love your dad, or be a father figure to the upcoming generation in your
0:40.4	church you know one of the things i think about is in the book of third john verse four people don't
0:46.6	even read third john third john verse four says this i have no greater joy than to hear that my
0:53.3	children are walking in the truth.
0:55.7	It is an incredible honor that God would allow us to be a father and to borrow his title.
1:02.9	And you think about who wrote those words.
1:04.9	John was the one that had the last supper with Jesus.
1:07.6	John witnessed the resurrected Christ.
1:09.7	John was the one given the revelation
1:11.5	to see how all things will come together in the end when he sees the new heaven and the new
1:17.3	earth. And of all the things on the planet and in the future that bring him joy, hearing that his
1:22.7	children are walking in the truth brings him no greater joy. And now one of the things I just want you to realize is that
1:29.3	God is not a reflection of your heavenly father, but he is the perfection of what it means to be
1:34.4	dad. Ephesians chapter six men says this, children, obey your parents and the Lord. For this is right,
1:40.4	honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise, that it may go well with you
1:45.6	and that you may live long in the land. Now, dads, I want you to pay attention to verse four. Fathers do not provoke
1:52.1	your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Some translations
