Hello Coming up on today's show, the police killing of Tyree Nichols, Ritchie Sunak's

first hundred days and Sam Smith and the nonsense of non-binary.

So the funeral for Tyru Nichols was held in Memphis this week.

The 29-year-old black man was brutalized beaten to a pulp by five police officers

and he later succumbed to his injuries. Tom there's a tendency when these horrible

things happens to fold them immediately into a kind of narrative.

Let's call it the BLM narrative that says it must all be down to white supremacy.

Now this case really doesn't lend itself to that does it?

It doesn't but that hasn't stopped it being folded into that narrative and I think that's been

one of the quite shameful ways in which this story has been discussed because as you say what you have here is an

indefensible act of police brutality by its purposes of these people will these officers will stand

trial eventually most likely they will no doubt defend their innocence,

but a lot of people watching that video cannot help but feel that they acted in a not just brutal but almost

sadistic fashion.

And you know, there's some sort of traffic stop

which is escalated almost immediately.

You know, Tyry Nichols being heard kind of shouting out,

almost confused and scared, you know, you lot are really doing a lot right now,

not really understanding why they're putting hands on him in the way that they are.

He manages to get away and then they just, you know, wail on him as you say.
