today I'm excited to chat with Tate Hanjock and Alec Convary.

We were introduced to these two amazing writers

by Emily Lock, a conference director

at Austin Film Festival.

So today we're going to be chatting with them

about their experience as writers at AFF

and how it helped shape their careers.

Alex, you were a semi-finalist at AFF with your script Excels here and Tate you won for your

script sex appeal.

Tate is a writer actor-actor producer focused on female-driven comedy and YA.

As a writer and producer, Tate EPed her feature script sex appeal on Hulu.

She also adapted the play Love in Baseball, which she produced and starred in in HBO Max, and she's appeared in many notable shows in films like Bert

Wonderstone and The Office.

And Alex wrote the Ben Affleck directed Sports Biopig Ayer,

starring Matt Damon, Jason Bateman, and viola Davis

earning a WGA nomination for a screenplay among other nominations and wins.

He's also made pre-appearances on the blacklist for other features.
