This is our 57th little leader. Isn't that crazy? 57 episodes of your stories. It was really only last March, like a year ago, that we started doing them every week. There was only a few of them before then, which is just so crazy to me. I'm like, how did we only talk once a week before that? Just insane. Now I talk to you guys, I feel like every day. I feel like I had some news this week, something to tell you.

Well, we got a PO box, which is very exciting and long awaited. It was truly one of those things that only took 30 minutes to do, but the idea of going down to the post office and bringing them all the forms that you just felt like a nightmare, but it's done now. It's here. I know not everyone is on Instagram and stuff, so the address will be in the show notes, or I'll just tell you here. Madison, because of the location, will go there once a week to check it. Obviously, please do not feel like you need to send me anything. I know there's so much art and cool shit that you guys have wanted to send me in the past, and I'm always like, yeah, I'll have a PO box eventually, but now it's finally here. I'm very excited to see what bizarre things arrive. Also, I don't really go on TikTok a lot, so I don't follow a lot of people on there, but this guy keeps popping up on my for you page. I think I follow him now.

I think he recommends horror books, which I feel like I always gravitate more towards two crimes. Surprise! Shock at the century. Nobody could believe. Or like a book with a good book with a twist. But I bought this book that's supposedly super fucked up, so I'm going to start it this weekend, and I'll follow up. I don't want to recommend it till I've read it.

I really want to do some sort of like cult leader, cult leader book club. Maybe that'll be like a Patreon thing we can do. I don't know.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves one day at a time, babes. You know what? I cannot wait to watch. Hulu is putting out a series called The Girl from Plainville about Michelle Carter, and she was the one who sent all those texts to her boyfriend, Conrad Roy back in 2014.

Just awful, heavily encouraging him to end his own life, which he unfortunately did. And I remember it was all over the news, and they were publishing some of the text messages that she had sent him. Really horrible. Like, you keep pushing it off and say you'll do it. You just need to do it.

Referring to him killing himself just awful. She ended up being found guilty for her role in Conrad's death, but was only sentenced to two and a half years in prison, which was later dropped to 15 months for good behavior of which I think she served like 11 months or something total.

This is one of those instances where I'm like, is prison gonna help her? Probably not, but she should be somewhere receiving 24 hour psychological care because something is a mess. Okay, something is not working right up there. Some things need to be rewired.

Nobody knows where she is now from what I've seen. I tried looking into it, presumably she's obviously wanting to keep a low profile. To be honest, I think with just texting and social media's prevalence amongst kids today, they could have really made an example of her.

I'm surprised honestly that she didn't get more severe consequences. I mean, people need to learn words have meanings, words have consequences, who knows? Society, she's just a mess. Whoever did the casting though for this show was spot on. When I first saw the preview for it, I was like, holy shit, they have alphanning playing Michelle Carter, and they look eerily similar.

This series comes out next Tuesday, March 29th, so I'll be watching if you want to watch alongside. I don't really think I have too much else to fill you in on. That's the hot goss over on my end.

Hi, Spencer. Hi, hotdog. Hey, hotdog. I was listening to a little leader episode when it dawned on me, I have a little leader story of my own. I apologize in advance for how long this is. I would like to stay anonymous, please. The names in this story have been changed.

It was 2003, and I was 13 years old. My flip phone rang, and when I answered, I heard a voice on the other end say, hey, it's John. Nothing better than flipping open a flip phone, or nothing better than slamming it shut when you're angry.

I had a friend named John, who I knew through my best friend, Maggie. He lived in a different town and went to a different school, so I didn't really know him well, but we would talk on aim. Instant messaging pretty often. I didn't know he had my number, but I assumed he got it from Maggie. He had recently posted in a way message about how his girlfriend had broken up with him. So one of the first things I said when he called was, what's happened to you and Brittany? He was confused as to what I was talking about, and that's when it hit me. This wasn't my friend, John. This was Maggie's cousin, John.

Maggie's much older cousin, 28 to be exact, oh god no. And you're what, 13? I had never really spoken to him, but he would always be at Maggie's family's parties, so I saw him around from time to time.

Maggie and I had been friends since second grade, so I was always at her family get together. I asked him how he got my number, and he just said that Maggie had given it to him.

My 13 year old self thought nothing of it and went on talking to him. To be honest, I thought it was pretty cool that an older guy was interested in talking to a little old me and sincerely thought he was just trying to be my friend.

It's like, why do we think that when we're teenagers? Don't you wish you could just go back and slap yourself and be like, please, cut it the fuck out.
