Hey everyone, welcome back to the screenwriting life. I'm Lorian McKenna, and today I'll be talking with writer director Kelly O'Sullivan.

So Kelly wrote and co-directed Ghost Light, which premiered at Sundance, where it sold to IFC. The film premiered to a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes when it hit theaters in June. Congratulations. Thank you. And Jeff, I know you're a big fan of Kelly's work.

I am. I should share. Kelly and I share a producer. So I was introduced to your work by Ian Kaiser and I went to a screening of your first movie St. Francis and was just totally bowled over.

So I was really excited to see Ghost Light when it came out and it totally held up to the first.

Congratulations on your second feature.

I mentioned St. Francis, but your first movie, St. Francis, which you also star in when the audience awarded Southby,

when it was, when it premiered in 2019, and was hailed by Rolling Stone as one of the best and gutseiest movies of that year.

Oh boy.

Kelly's work is deeply personal and grassroots building upon her circle of Chicago-based

creatives in a fiercely independent film network.

So in addition to her work, we'll be chatting with Kelly about what it really means to produce and sell an indie film, especially outside of LA and New York. So hi Kelly, welcome to the show.
