On February 17, 1987, the thick smell of gas had a group of men knocking on a door of an

apartment in Copenhagen.

The smell had only been getting worse during the safety of the whole building in danger.

But the men weren't even sure that the woman inside could hear them knocking over the

sound of the television blaring inside.

With no other options, one of the men, the caretaker, opened the front door, letting two police

men and a gas technician in, the fear that the elderly lady who lived there had already

succumbed to the toxic gas, making them all hurry.
