This week, Stephen Matelsky gives us a front-row view to the inside of Canadian organized crime.

It's just a little back history.

Their father, Paul Ovioli, in the 1970s was the underboss of the Montreal mob.

So the Montreal has long historically been considered to be the sixth family from New York

because they're directly connected to the banana crime family.

And ironically, Paul Ovioli, while he was the underboss in Montreal, this is in the

late 70s, he allowed a undercover Bob Minard to rent a room above his gelato shop for

six years.

And this is where Paul Ovioli, this was in downtown Montreal Quebec.

So just to give some context, he was, Bob Minard was able to hook up recording devices

and years and years of mob information, not just Montreal, but the inner workings of New

York City and the banana crime family and the commission.
