I'm thrilled to welcome, a mast of the industry, Jim Shinerman.

Now, Jim is the founder and managing partner at Maven Ventures, and he really is one of the early

pioneers of the social networking phenomenon that we've seen over the last decade, as one of

the first employees and the former head of

business development and sales at the first social networking site, Friendster, with Jonathan

Abraham's. In 2005, though, Jim left Friendster to join co-founders Michael and Zocci

Birch to launch Bebo as the first employee and board member. Bebo later went on to become a unicorn

for Jim.

However, that was not his only unicorn,

as he was also an investor in billion-dollar tango and NBCI,

which IPOed for $6 billion.

Now, at Maven, he is building an incredible portfolio

with holdings in the likes of Angel List,

wealth front, alt-space, and many, many more.
