cast. I'm Eric Rivenes. Right to have you here with me. So this episode is

going to be different than usual. I sometimes get emails from listeners who

have personal family history projects and will ask my advice and I am far from

being an expert but I thought it would be fun to bring one on. Someone who has a

lot of experience researching historical crimes and criminals so much so that

he's written a book about the process. So I am excited today to have Stephen

Wade as my guest. He taught in higher education for many years and is a prolific

author having written over 50 books both fiction and nonfiction and many true

crime. He also lectured part-time at the University of Hall. I have invited him

here to talk about his book called Tracing Your Criminal Ancestors, a guide for

asking me. Yes. So as we talked about in our communication earlier most of my

listeners are from North America but even though you focus on British

genealogical resources in your book you offer great research tips that can

be used by anyone in the world looking to dig up villains and villainesses from

their family history. Right? Yes that's right. I like to think that everything's in

some great network you know somewhere. I mean not long ago there was a documentary

on TV I'm sure you saw it with Jack the Ripper Chicago suspect very very

famous probably Chicago's most famous serial killer Holmes what he called.
