Summary

Kiran Trace is an internationally known spiritual teacher and author. She died of massive spontaneous awakening into her true nature, then eight years later, and at the encouragement of Moni Vangolen, Thomas Stubbs, Adyashanti, and others, she began to talk and teach. Because she spontaneously awoke, with no prior spiritual background, orientation or understanding, she is known for her unique point of view. Folks often call her teachings “fresh” because she doesn't have any spiritual language or point to any lineage. She sees primarily from vast stillness and embodies "the world" from an "inside-outside" point of view.  Seeing the coding of the universe in order to see the universe, it’s very “matrix” like. Visit more of her works and teachings at kirantrace.com, or visit her YouTube channel. Interview recorded 11/2/2013 Transcript of this interview. Kiran's 2nd Batgap interview. The Welcome to Buddha at the gas pump. My name is Rick Archer and my guest this week is Kieran. Welcome Kieran.

0:31.6

Hi. My first trivial question is Kieran is a man's name in India. How did you end up with a name Kieran?

0:39.0

Oh, Kieran is also a woman's name in Sanskrit.

0:43.2

So there's a lot of Kieran, Kieran.

0:45.7

Okay.

0:46.1

And it's the first ray of light that hits in the dawn.

0:53.1

So just when it's all dark, that first ray of light is a Kirana in Sanskrit.

0:58.2

Oh, nice.

0:58.9

Yeah, so it's actually a really, really common in Fiji or any of the Indian countries.

1:05.6

The way I spell it, K-I-R-A-N, is a female version versus the male Kieran, which is an Irish saint or the Japanese

1:15.2

dragon.

1:16.4

So there's lots of versions of it.

1:18.3

But mine, it's a great story how my name came about because when I first popped, blew

1:25.7

my mind, my mind blew a few.

1:28.3

And you read the book and we'll talk about more of it, but it was so radical.

1:31.3

It was such a spontaneous.

1:34.3

I had no background, no orientation, and I was suddenly without any form.

1:40.3

And navigating the world after a few months was so hard for my family, my friends, everybody,

1:48.2

because it was an entirely different human being in front of them, like radically different,

1:54.0

sudden like now.

1:56.0

So a friend, a really, really good friend of mine, Christopher, who the book's dedicated to, he said,

2:02.0

you know, sometimes people change their names.
