Aaron Burr is a really interesting figure.

Here's a man who fought and served heroically in the war for independence,

who served in state and national government,

and who ended his political career with service as Vice President of the United States.

Now all that is enough to make him an interesting figure, but on top of that, we can add that

he shot and killed Alexander Hamilton in a duel and he's been charged with orchestrating a plan to capture a large part of the Mississippi

Valley and perhaps even parts of Spanish Florida and Mexico to create a second independent

nation in North America.

That's right, Aaron Burr supposedly intended to commit treason by dividing the American Union.
