Lots to discuss today about the NFL trading deadline as we record this.

It is closing right now.

The next time NFL teams will be able to trade is in mid-March. It's over. So let's talk about that in general. What we have in

the NFL is a trade deadline that's even later than it was, although many, including myself,

think it's way too early.

Some teams have played eight games, some teams have played nine games, basically were sort of

halfway through the season, and that's the trade deadline.

Compare that to basketball late February, more than halfway through the season, and baseball,

of course, end of July, sort of more than two- halfway through the season. And baseball, of course, end of July, sort of

more than two-thirds through the season. So other sports leagues have had more buzz with the

trade deadline. And part of the buzz has been that it's later that we can figure out who are the

buyers, who are the sellers, who are the teams that can jump in and do

things and who are the teams that will not. The NFL was mid-October and what changed was COVID.

And they wanted to push it back because of all the things going on in 2020. And it made sense
