And you are right. It says traditionally horses in England, raced in a clockwise direction.

However, since declaring independence from the British way, Kentuckyans began to race their

horse in the opposite direction to show independence and the new American spirit, the world followed

Kentucky's lead. And that is why we are the counter clocks. You know down there, that little park

down there on Main Street by where the old Lex and Harold leader building used to be. That's a big

controversy because the horses are actually racing clockwise. So statues of those horses.
