Welcome to 2022. Hopefully it's not just 2020 part two. I'm hoping not, but let's be honest,

time has gotten really mushy since about 2019. And so the look back this year should be interesting.

This is my favorite episode or one of my favorite episodes to do. And if you go back into the

go back into the vault, not only will you hear the older podcast intro before the name change,

but I've done a year and review in both 2019 and 2019 2020. And this is the year and review

for 2021. And I really love seeing how things evolve even when I just look at my research notes

going into this episode. And I can't wait to break it down. I added one extra category. We don't

have five categories this year. We've got six. So it's a look at the year for the longers, a look

at the stories that captivated us, a look at things that I loved this year, things that confused

me this year, things that I let go of in 2021 and my January reset. I really do enjoy every year

doing this episode. Just it just makes me happy. And so I feel like 2021 was weird because I feel

like a lot of things stood still, but also so much changed for me in my life, in my kind of in

what I do for work and how I do it. And it just everything shifted. But also I felt like the year

was kind of walking through mud. I hope that makes sense. Some of you are probably like I feel

seated. Some of you are like, I have no idea what you're talking about. Isn't it just 2019? Aren't

we just starting into 2020? Because it's been such a weird few years. Another reason why the

look backs matter so much to me is it's a way to kind of just a log and keep track, but also mark where

we've been because as a global human community, we've been through some shit, y'all. And we are

continuing to go through it. And with that, I feel like we should just get into today's shit,

because I'm really excited to talk about it. I love taking a look back. I love the new year,

and I love like the beginning of the academic year. Those are two kind of touch points for me in

the year that I really always look forward to. One, they always feel like a time to buy supplies.
