The day has finally arrived. Can you believe it Danny? This is now the fifth annual mock off season.

It's pretty amazing. If you haven't listened to this before, you're hopefully in for a treat and levels of nerdy which you have perhaps never experienced in your entire lifetime.

We're going to be joined by Kevin Pelton of ESPN and Dan Feldman of NBC in a moment here, but what we're going to do is I'm going to be the player agent.

Danny, Dan and Kevin are going to control the 30 teams in the NBA. They are going to make offers to my players. I will accept them. Hopefully they'll be a little more lucrative than last year.

And we're going to fill out all the caps base in this 2019 off season.

So the place to start here is just with a little bit of background on what some of the contracts are.

If you're a regular listener, this may be a bit redundant to you because we hit on these numbers pretty frequently.

But just want to take you through what some of the maximum contracts are that are available.

So we'll start with the zero to six year maximum contracts. That's generally going to be your restricted for agents, your Janjalo Russell, your Christapse porzingus.

For a player signing a max contract, zero to six years experience with a new team.

Most they can do is four years with 5% annual raises that starts at 27.3 million dollars for a total of 117.2 million.

If such a player were returning to their own team on a five year deal with the maximum 8% annual raises, you're looking at same starting salary, but five years 158 million dollars.

Then if we're talking about the seven to nine years of experience, that includes almost all of the prominent for agents this year, you know,

Kauai, Kyrie Irving, Clay Thompson, all those type of guys.

Their starting salary is 30% of the cap. So that means it's 32.7 million regardless of whether they stay with their current team or go to a new one.

Yeah, and we should mention too that we are projecting using the NBA's projection right now of 109 million dollars for the cap.

Yeah, and for those who are interested, the luxury tax line is projected to be 132 million.

And then for those who are interested, we said the cap this year, the cap for the 1920 season is 109 million.

The projection for the following season is 116.

That would be another jump of $7 million.

Okay, so back to that seven and nine year back.

Yes. So starting salary 32.7, no matter what.
