Helping me break it all down is my regular partner, Jeff Reimbold and Jeff, as we look at the draft.

As we go through the off season, really, we look at free agency and we recognize so many of the names, but the draft possibly has greater importance.

How important is the NFL draft to teams?

I think, Neil, you don't have to look any farther than what transpired in Seattle last week to understand the importance of the draft.

What's happened today in the economics of putting a team together inside the salary cap,

when you pay a quarterback like Russell Wilson got paid and he deserves to be paid that way

because that's the market value, you have to be able to backload or backfill with rookie contracts.

And that's why getting good players in the draft is so very, very important.

They couldn't afford to keep Frank Clark.

They had to get rid of him.

And Kansas City was a trading partner.

And they picked up draft choices, which means more guys come in at the rookie pay scale, which allows you to work inside the cap.

Yeah, Frank Clark this week traded to the Kansas City Chiefs by Seattle.

He then signs a five-year $105.5 million contract.

Let's have a look at the first round of the draft. There are seven rounds, a team who had the worst record.
