Open Championship Week is here.

We talk about it a lot here on the first cut podcast with Kyle Porter.

It is the week where Kyle's children put him to bed.

And so as we record this on Monday afternoon, Kyle, I'll ask you, have you flipped your schedule yet?

No, I haven't.

I need to.

My wife kindly and graciously was asking me earlier today, how can I help you this week?

Oh.

And I said, yeah, it was great.

But I was like, just make sure I'm going to bed.

Because if I stay up until 11, 1130, that does not bode well for Thursday and Friday.

But now I'm excited.

Does it feel to you like there's less kind of fanfare and hoop ball going into this major than the first suit the masters in the u.s open yes

and i think that that happens and here's because and i to hope i'm not pulling back the curtain

a little too far on this but when you and i were talking about preparation for this about a week ago

week or so you know the the feeling of of being a little bit lost, not really

sure what we're grabbing onto, not really sure what the stories or the angles are going to be

for this year's Open Championship. And as I was kind of kicking that around and doing my own

preparation, I realized that so much of the way that I interpret the Open Championship, particularly in the middle and by the

end of the tournament, is kind of a reaction to whatever happens on day one. You know, like I just,

I find that, and some of it is that I'm not awake for the first T shot, but I always think that as a golf

fan and as someone who, you know, helps you out when I can or I'm not at media days,
