It's Isaac Wood here to preview the 2018 NCAA cross-country national championships joining me from Provo, Utah, which is just as cold or not as cold as Madison right now?

It's not as cold. It's like 40 today with no wind, so it's actually not that bad.

Are you a little worried about the weather?

Oh, no, it's fine. Our kids are running it year round.

So, you know, it's from about this time until March you could get summer routine, you know below zero to 45 you never know so

But a little part of you definitely has to be excited that this is actual cross-country racing weather like the way it's going to look

it's not it is at a very nice course but hopefully there's some snow hopefully

for the spectators at home that's what we're looking forward to we like we get enough

crap for cross country in the United States being too soft let's make it a lot harder.

Yeah I mean you know it, I don't think it hurts my team if the

weather isn't great. I think it actually adds an interesting element literally and figuratively into the meat by having it being as cold as it's going to be and also with the possibility of snow the night before I think the forecast has changed every hour for the last two weeks so I I would expect at some

point during the week it's going to snow I don't know how much no if it'll stick but

it's going to be not not ideal but it will be cross country that's what I'm sure so definitely and now you

made an appearance on this podcast about a year ago and so for some listeners who

because the podcast has definitely grown in that past year we've picked up new

listeners along the way they might not be as familiar with what the wood report is.

So real quick I guess how would you describe the wood report it's something you've been doing since

2012 that's right yeah I mean I actually hate it no I'm just getting no it's great I it's

been something that I just started doing because I realized there was kind of a space for it in 2012. There really wasn't anything like that out there.

Flutrach was still fairly new and just kind of on the scene pretty fresh and no one was really breaking down

across country.
