This is one of the dumbest dopeiest drafts. Other than 2013, probably the dopeiest draft of

this entire century. Our first pick was named Andrea. We had six lottery whiffs.

We had out of our top five picks. One guy became Antenna Steed later, Taira Stomis.

One guy was an iconic all-time bus out of Morrison. One guy became an internet punching bag

and a despised New York Nick, Andrea Bergnani. And then the number five pick was a guy whose

nickname was the landlord that I totally forgotten until I did all the research for this.

LaMarcus Aldridge was the only good top five pick out of this draft. Chris Ryan, this was also

the last blog post of your Chauncey Billups blog, which has a new four-hour documentary about it

coming up by Ken Burns. What do you remember of this draft first when you think about it?

It's intertwined with my experience on basketball internet in the first three or four years

of the 2000s, where it was truly weird out there. People would just blog about the personalities

that they were attracted to. And for as much as this 2006 draft is honestly, it's probably a waste

of this podcast. It's time to re-re-re-re-litigate it. What an island of misfit toys, man.

And what a strange group of individuals to be in this lottery, much less this whole draft.

And I remember that night and just like that was back when like basketball was like truly weird

back then when when guys like this would get picked like, Sheldon Williams would go in the

the top five or six picks of a draft and you were just like, what am I doing with my life? I'm

just watching this guy name the landlord get selected. House, we're so on. We did the 2005

...
