Before we get into our study of Second Samuel, I wanted to make a couple of comments concerning this murder of nine people in Charleston, South Carolina.

Doubtless you've heard about this, it was actually last night, Wednesday night, at an African American church, a very actually well-known church there.

And the nine people who were murdered included the pastor, who was also a senator and this was at their midweek Bible study

and as you might imagine this kind of hits a little bit closer to home if you can

just imagine I mean it would be as if somebody were to come in to this church

at our midweek Bible study and do something as evil as this.

To me, it's never a question as to whether or not the individual who does something as unthinkable

as this it's never a question that they are are truly demon possessed these are demon

possessed individuals I just today was a really difficult day I'm trying to study

for not just tonight but for Sunday as well.

And I usually start on the prophecy update earlier in the week, and then Thursday I try to work on it.

It was just really hard. I just had a hard time trying to wrap my mind around this.

And because I cannot think of another time when somebody did something

like this in a church.

Now there have been church shootings where somebody was the intended target, but I don't

know if I can recall an incident where something like this

happened. And I think it's sort of a game changer. And the perpetrator who did this, apparently, he was 21 years old and they did apprehend him.

He is in custody.

What really was difficult for me today was when I heard that before he murdered these precious

Christian brothers and sisters that he actually sat in that Bible study for an hour before he actually did it.

And, you know, churches are welcoming, you know, and certainly they're not going to, and

unsuspecting, you know, and you can just imagine that they just welcomed him with open
