So you could fault David, but I think what David is doing is really exemplary here,

and I think it's like what we see in Hebrews 11.

And that is he is honoring the dead for the good things that they did, for the good contribution

that they made, and he's focused on those things.

That's what we see here, and that's what we see in Hebrews 11. And the bad things that they did, the ways that they

send, he knows about those things. He's not denied.

All right, so guys, last week we finished First Samuel.

Congrats to us.

And we talked about the ascendance of David

and the death of Saul. Real briefly, where did we end last week? What happened to Saul? Just remind us.

So David ascends to power. He defeats the Amalekites. He retrieves everything that was stolen

from him. He returns to home base at Zicklag, and it's very clear he is in command. He's

in charge. He is a one-man army. Meanwhile, Saul and Jonathan die in battle against the Philistines.

Saul commits suicide. Yeah. Or did he? I think more on that later. Yeah. Yeah, good, good.

You killed yourself. Today, we're going to discuss hopefully.

We'll see how this goes.
