Nephi is taking time to provide commentary on having just quoted a whole number of Isaiah chapters.

And the focus here is all about Jesus and its covenants.

And that's the important thing to know about Isaiah.

When we read Isaiah, look for the covenants. Look for Jesus.

And what Nephi does for us in these chapters is gives explanation about what is the work

of Jesus, what is the work of God?

What can we expect God to do for us and what is he expect of us?

So let's just jump in.

So in chapter 26, he begins this discussion and it's kind of fascinating. If you look at verse, the first section of

chapter 26, reading it through the lenses of Nephi doing what he's told us to do, which is

liken all scriptures unto himself, that it could be for his prophet and his people's learning,

that's what he's doing. So some of these passages that you'll remember

from the Isaiah block, you'll see him now taking them and applying them to his people, not

just his people in his current day, but his prophetic view of his people down to the coming

of Christ, and then beyond that to the utter destruction of the Nephite nation at the end.

In verse 1 through 7, just watch for that. You'll see that come out.

And what I love is he begins with verse 1, and after Christ shall have risen from the dead,

he shall show himself unto you my children and my beloved brethren and the words which he shall speak

unto you shall be the law which ye shall do."

This is significant because these are people of the house of Israel.
