King Asa's faithfulness led to a period of peace as he removed idols and renewed Israel's covenant with God. every chapter, every book, this is expound. We're in Second Chronicles chapter 15, and as you turn there and as you look ahead and see

the picture in front of you, you're looking at, if you take away the golden dome and imagine

that's where a temple stood, you are looking at the area where Solomon built his temple

and eventually where a temple will be rebuilt again

in the city of Jerusalem.

But we're looking at chapter 15 of Second Chronicles.

The king, David, whose idea it was to build the temple is dead.

Solomon built the temple.

He's dead.

His son Rehoboam and the rebel Jeroboam split the kingdom,

north and south. They're dead. Rehoboam's son Ibija ruled. He was not a good king. He's dead.

But now King Asa, the son of Abijah, a good and godly king, at least at first, is on the throne.

He occupied the throne of Judah, the southern kingdom, for 41 years.

Because he was faithful to God, he will enjoy a peaceful number of years.

You may recall from last study that a million man army from Ethiopia marched against Judah

and Asa knew he was no match.

And so Asa did what anybody should do when they're scared of losing their life in their kingdom.

He prayed.

And he said, God, you got to help.

Nothing restrained you from saving, whether there were many people who are strong or somebody who is weak.
