0:23.3	There's of course the regulatory story.
0:25.8	There's the story of what caused this definitively.
0:29.0	There's the Pete Boudeged story, which is building even among some on the left and saying,
0:34.0	okay, even if it's not Pete Boudeged's fault, why did he not react or act quickly after
0:41.8	it happened, which we will talk about separately.
0:43.8	But in the immediate, there's the story about what is going on with chemicals and risks
0:48.8	to people's health.
0:50.0	Now I want to start and preface this by saying this is not a conspiracy theory show.
0:56.6	We debunk conspiracy theories.
0:59.4	And when we talk about what's really going on with the chemicals in East Palestine, Ohio,
1:06.6	we are not even needing to take the position that there's a conspiracy of some kind here.
1:13.1	We just know that there's a history of wrongly assessing health risks to people from chemical
1:20.6	elements of different kinds and of being slow to tell people of that being the case.
1:26.6	So when we look at this article from the New York Times, which says many in East Palestine,
1:31.7	skeptical of official tests seek out their own, it is not a conspiracy theory to say the
1:39.4	government, whether it's federal or state, hasn't always been right or honest initially about
1:46.8	these things.
1:48.2	And so we want more information.
1:50.8	The New York Times says the moves reflect residents deep-seated mistrust of government
1:55.8	screenings of toxic chemicals and fears of long-term effects from the train derailment.
