institution, who's the host of two podcasts. I highly recommend matter of policy and politics

with his colleagues at Hoover speculating as we are now about the tickets and good fellows

with Mr. Cochran, the economist, Mr. McMaster, the former National Security Advisor and

Lifetime Officer in Uniform and Neil Ferguson, the philosopher historian and Bill. Mr. Pence,

we did not mention Mr. Pence of Indiana chosen by Donald Trump during the 16 campaign

and always in the news these days because of the events of January 6, 2021. Mr. Pence

gives every indication that he is running for president and it doesn't seem any more

far fetched to me than Kamala Harris does to Democrats that Mr. Pence could do very well

on that stage, especially if it includes Donald Trump and Mr. Pence has given the opportunity

to speak out.

Yeah, that's true, John, but here's a question to throw back at you. What is Mike Pence's

lane in the Republican primaries? This is something I've stressed over how many lanes there are

for candidates and elections. I'm here in California, John, where there's a very interesting

Senate race coming about next year. This is the race to replace Diane Feinstein. There

are three Democratic House members in the race and each occupies a lane, as I like to call

it. Madam Chief of Impeachment Fame, he's in the establishment lane. He's backed by Nancy

Pelosi and has access to her money as a result. He's the establishment candidate. Katie

Porter, a Democratic Congresswoman, she's in the Elizabeth Warren lane, John. She's very

anti-corporate, very anti-institutional like Liz Warren. And then in lane number three is

Barbara Lee from up here in the Bay Area. She's a Democratic Socialist. She's the Bernie

Sanders lane candidate. How many lanes are there in the Republican Party, John? There
