McCart of American greatness. Jury trials, they're not. The Smith's report about Mr. Trump

did not have a jury and only had the prosecutor's opinion. The jury in Manhattan didn't exist. It was the

opinion of the judge, Judge March on. So we're looking at not a jury of peers convicting,

but either judges or prosecutors convicting, which is an odd kind of conviction. In any event,

I'm also puzzled about what happened in New York. If I read correctly,

there was no punishment. What kind of trial and verdict is that, Andy? Does that exist?

Well, let's just back up for a second. There was a trial before a jury. I think it's fair,

John, to say that the jury, the jury's conclusion

about the case, which is 34 guilty verdicts, is suspect because the judge did not instruct

the jury that it had to find the main fact in the case that turned it into a felony prosecution,

namely what crime it was

that Trump was supposedly concealing when he allegedly falsified his business record.

So that portion of it was subject to a jury trial.

But now we move forward to sentencing.

And what happened here is that the Democrats were in a hot

panic. And when I say the Democrats, Merchant is a is an activist Democrat who contributed to

Joe Biden's campaign against Trump in 2020 and whose daughter is a, an election operative who's done work for

Kamala Harris, quite lucrative work we understand. So, you know, we're talking about an elected

Democratic district attorney and the person I just described March on is to judge on the case.

They were hot to have Trump sentenced because under the law,

even though throughout the campaign, the Democrats called Trump a convicted felon, technically
