I'm John Bachelors with Professor Evan Ellis of the U.S. Army War College who's doing

me the favor of playing along as if we were the correspondence challenging the two presidents in their

debate to comment on their plans for their second administrations given their

records of their first administrations to do with the Americas.

We've talked about Mexico, the southern border, Panama, Central America in total.

We've certainly mentioned Venezuela and

Professor my my next concern is a larger story not a specific question about a

country and but and I ask you was this an issue in the Trump administration because I address it to the Biden administration here

There appears to be generally understanding a uniform move to left of center in

presidential contests over these last years. That would be Petro and Colombia, notably. Lula and Venezuela in Brazil,

we could go on, but it appears to be true. Is it in fact true? Is it in fact important that these

leaders are sympathetic to left-of-centered concerns for their own countries which means generally

large governments and intervention and also welcoming to countries outside of the

Americans that are generally understood to be adversaries

even the United States.

The usual which is brew of in Eurasia, Moscow, Tehran, Beijing, and maybe now Pyongyang.

Was that a concern the left of center movement

because all these presidential contests

took place in these last years having? Well, it's a great question, John.
