I'm John Bachelor with my colleague Peter Berkowitz at the Hoover Institution, discussing first the strategy right now in Gaza with the war not concluded against the Hamas

gunman. However, there is an additional document in these last days from the

Prime Minister's office the day after Hamas principles.

Peter, I go to the hard part of Israel ever trusting Gaza again without close policing.

Is that what we can imagine future?

Not only the Philadelphia line built up and assured that there will be no more tunnels from

Egypt.

Not only a DMZ around all of Gaza, but

Israeli police, Israeli a military in Gaza itself, how do you imagine it, Peter?

Well we have some guidance in this

matter as you said from the document one-page document that Prime Minister

Nettenel presented to his cabinet last week, entitled the day after Hamas principles.

And to document device matters wisely, I think, into the immediate run the short term the

intermediate term and the long term short order the short term goals as we've

discussed it's the destruction of Hamas but than that, the demilitarization of the

Gaza Strip and the beginning of the de-radicalization of the Gaza Strip.

As far as the intermediate term, Israel doesn't visage the assumption of power by local

administrators provided they have no tie to terrorist organizations.

I don't think you'll see something that you would call an Israeli police force there,

but I do think, but the principles suggest that Israel envisages a situation like the one that exists

in to tell you the truth in Judean, Samaria, some people call the West Bank. Meaning that whoever the civil administrators are,
