Summary

This week we bid adieu to the burned corpse of a town that is 'Salem's Lot. It's our overview episode and Matt and Scott talk about their issues with Ben Mears, the depiction of alcoholism in the 70s, and then answer some terrible discussion questions from Schmoop!

Note: We originally planned to answer your mailbag questions this week, but due to our schedules we had to record this episode early and were unable to meet up again to answer your questions before the release date. We'll be answering your questions on next week's episode!

Next week we'll be reading and discussing the two short stories related to 'Salem's Lot: Jerusalem's Lot and One for the Road, both part of King's Night Shift short story collection

0:44.5

It's going to be whatever the subject of the next book is.

0:47.3

Yeah, which could be anything, Matt.

0:50.7

This week on the show, we are taking one final look at Stephen King's Salem's lot with our usual overview episodes.

0:59.9

These are our much looser, much broader, big, all-encompassing episode where we like to just take one final look back at the book and talk about it as a whole.

1:08.9

We've got some interesting topics to talk about. And then something we're going to do, something new, we're going to do not at the end and talk about it as a whole. We've got some interesting topics to talk about.

1:10.9

And then something we're going to do, something new, we're going to do not at the end of the

1:14.4

episode, but at probably some point in the middle is when I was desperately searching for

1:18.8

discussion questions for this book, Matt, I found, I was like Googling, like, this is how

1:23.8

desperate I was. I was like Googling Salem's Lot discussion questions to come up with ideas.

1:28.1

And I stumbled upon a website called Schmoop, which I think is like a modern version of Cliff Notes or something.
