used to my representative to openly ignoring my ideas and opinions.

I'm an unenrolled reporter in the state and I have a tendency to lean conservative Republican

in this state where the Senate has a huge control with the Democrats, a 37 Democrats to

three Republicans.

It's very difficult to think your vote really matters.

Hi, I'm Grace from Roswell, Georgia.

I'm a former New Yorker, a Democrat living in a Republican state and if it wasn't for

my private group on Facebook, but over 2,000 liberal moms, I don't know how I would survive

living in Georgia.

We share with each other things like ways to protect marginalized peoples and many, many

times I've thought about leaving but I've made a life here and I'm here for the duration.

For many, voting is a chance to make sure their voices are heard, but full and fair representation

can fill out of reach depending on where you live and the party that holds the majority

in your city or state.

We're taking a look at political islands during this conversation.

These are places where political demographics don't align with the states in which they're

located.

We'll discuss why living in these political islands can be frustrating but important for
