Earlier this year, all the talk was about John Olerud being the rookie of the year,

or would it be Sandy Alamar Jr. John, in your opinion, you've already stated,

you felt that Alamar really is the front runner right now. Yeah, well, I think so just because,

you know, he's done a great job here. In Cleveland, he's a position player. He plays every day and he's been hitting the ball good for a good average. And I just think he's

definitely got to be the front owner right now. And you haven't been playing every day and you're

not a position player, at least this year. Right. Yeah, I've just, I've been D-Hing mainly and

usually just hitting against right hand in pitchers.

So, you know, I would think being in his position, he's faced everybody and he's played every day.

So I would think, you know, you'd have to give him a lot of credit for the way he's performed.

Sandy Alamar, John Olerud thinks you should win it.

What do you think? Do you think you should? Well, I think that we have to decide at the end of the season. I can't take anything for granted. And, you know, anything can happen this last month. And it's going to be a really interesting month for the rookies. You know, John O'Roo is an outstanding hitter, probably the best hitter out of all the rookies. you got a natural swing and you know the only advantage that I have really is that I'm a

catcher and I'm a team that they needed catching for years. And I'm doing an outstanding job behind a plate and also catching knocker balls. And I've been around 280 to 90 the whole year. So that probably was going to help me a little bit. Very well spoken.
