Well, the trading of Larson brought back memories of his greatest day, the fifth game of the

1956 World Series when he performed the miracle of baseball, pitching a perfect game. And so today on Sports Week, we'd like to play for you again the actual play-by-play description of that historic moment.

The date is October 8, 1956, the Place Yankees Stadium, New York City.

The event is the fifth game of the World Series between the Brooklyn Dodgers and the New York

Yankees.

To briefly set the scene, the Dodgers had won the first two games played in Ebbets Field.

The Yankees came back to take the next two in Yankee Stadium. And so here was the big one,

the game that would give one team the edge three games to two. The Dodgers called on their

veteran Sal the Barbara Magley, the 39-year-old wizard, discarded by the Giants and the Indians,

but a fellow who had pitched the Dodgers to the National League pennant.
