No, we're not going back in time.

This is the new Meet the Press podcast.

I'm Chuck Todd.

On this podcast, you're going to hear from sports figures and astronauts, writers and newsmakers,

and yes, we'll occasionally talk politics.

You're used to seeing a lot of conversations begin on Meet the Press or Meet the Press daily.

Well, now, here's a place where we always have time to make sure those conversations can actually come to an end.

And if you're wondering why we're calling our podcast 1947, that's because 47 was the year Meet the Press was first broadcast.

2017 will mark the 70th anniversary of the show.

So we thought we'd paid a little homage to the moderators and guests that came before us and remember Meet the Press started as a radio show.

So it's very much at home as a podcast.

We'll be available once a week in the lead up to the 2016 election.
