Campbell and Alistair you wanted to focus this first on Jeremy Hunt the

Chancellor of the Exchequer's autumn statement that's coming up, which looks like it might involve some big cash giveaways.

And then you also wanted to engage us on the question of the way that Gaza is still playing in British politics, particularly

abuse of labor MPs.

Elon Musk, in trouble on X, what used to be called Twitter, for his anti-Semitic comments.

We were going to look again at where Russia was with Ukraine,

what's happened to the Ukraine war. Maybe first thing, tell us a little bit about why you've

been interested in the autumn statement. Why do autumn statements matter? Are these one of the

big events the year and if so why so? Because there aren't that many moments in the

calendar where a minister or prime minister can stand up in Parliament and make announcements, changes, policy ideas that

really have the potential to shift the dial.

I would argue that when we were in power, Gordon Brown's budgets and

autumn statements were big strategic landmarks most of the time. Now they would

fit into our overall strategic plan narrative, call it what you will.

That's why they're important.

And Allison, am I right that Autumn statements are relatively recent and that they were quite
