We have a special guest here today, and I am very excited, Mike.

0:20.5

It's been a minute. We caught up recently, but we have Mike here from Sons of Liberty. Hey, right? That's the... Sons of Liberty Gunworks. Some of the... I don't know if you guys know them, but I strongly suggest to check them out. You guys make some absolute great products. And I was trying to remember this morning, was it like six years ago that you gave us a tour of the shop and everything?

0:40.7

Yeah, you guys were just coming on the scene, like, you know, really strong. Y'all came to visit San Antonio and we supported one of y'all's parties and then you came down and hung out at the shop. But we've had a really kind of similar trajectory in a sense, right? you know, we kind of started sort of around the same time. And it's kind of, it's been awesome to watch what y'all done. And we're trying to chase y'all, man. I don't think it's chasing. It's, you know, teamwork makes the dream work here. So why don't we get into, like, Suns of Liberty a little bit? Like, tell me, like, how did that start? Why did it start?

1:11.3

And, like, what's your goal?

1:13.0

1:18.0

it's like there's a reason that they started,

1:20.3

whether it was they couldn't get the specific platform they wanted or they want a revolution.

1:24.4

I, like, what made you go, you know what?

1:29.1

I'm going to get into custom building.

1:34.2

So back then at that time, and it's not that long ago,

1:38.3

but the gun industry has evolved a lot rapidly.

1:41.3

But back then, if you wanted a high performance rifle,

1:42.8

you would buy it off the shelf,

2:02.8

and then you would take it to your garage and then usually start swapping shit out and then tweaking it to make it end-user-specific. You end up with a coffee can full of parts that you paid for that she'll never, you know, that she'll never use. You've spent another four or five hundred dollars on top of that, and there you go. And I thought to myself, like, why could you not do that factory direct with professional armors being able to, like, we'll handle the engine, right?

2:07.8

Bolt carrier groups and buffer weights and gas ports.

2:11.2

We handled the performance side of it, but, like, you handle the,

2:15.1

what color do you want it, what interior, you know, all the detail stuff?

2:19.5

And so that was one of the driving forces. So I started actually doing this in my garage.
