Happiness. It can seem so elusive because there's so many parts to it.

So many things have to be in place in order for us to seem to have a perfect day.

When they're in place, things are going well,

and we like everything that's happening,

then we say,

that was a good day.

But if something is off, we just don't feel right, or we just didn't get what we wanted,

whatever that may be, then we find that happiness is more of a dream than a reality.

Well recently I found this beautiful quote that I want to look at

and explore today. It is from the book called The Way of Dow and it says being

satisfied with little you can gain much. Seeking much, you will go astray.

The wise heed this precept.

It could only be so for all people. Let me read that again. Being satisfied

with little, you can gain much, seeking much, you will go astray. The wise heed this precept, if it could only be so with all people.

I love this saying. And one aspect of this lesson this teaching is that materialism can be the path of suffering.

The other day my kids and I were on a short outing and we were near a street called Rodeo Drive which is in Beverly Hills.

I don't know if you've heard of it, but it's probably one of the nicest shopping areas in Southern California, if not the world.

Most of the stores I'd never even heard of, but there are a lot of people that are interested

in what they had to sell.

I'm not sure many of us could afford what they are selling,

but a lot of people sure wanted to look at what they were selling. And we all probably know people
