And we'll be speaking with her today about her first fantasy novel, All of the Birds in the Sky,

about two friends who find themselves on opposite sides of a war between witches and mad scientists.

This is a writing class for students ages 14 to 19 that meets each summer at the University of Pittsburgh

Greensburg.

Over the course of the workshop, students write, critique, and revise their own stories, and attend lectures from

some of today's most popular authors.

Elmo Tar, and Tamra Pierce.
