Today we're speaking to journalist Alexis Delumis.

He's going to be talking to us about the massive clashes that have been taking place in Greece that have in some ways gone

quite under reported. These clashes broke out as a result of a train crash earlier in the

year which served as the straw that broke the

camels back basically for a lot of people that were very angry with the

government anyway. These are not just your average Friday night clashes the

situation in Greece has been a lot bigger

So there's been serious clashes in Greece. I think the first thing we should do

which would be to talk about this this train derailment because a lot of this seems to

have sprung from that but

obviously I think that's kind of the straw that has broken the camels back in a way

but yeah let's let's talk about that first of all I would reiterate what you said

that there was in fact an accumulation of

this content towards this administration that has been brewing like for a while with all kinds of shit happening you know all kinds of

scandals and so on and this yeah this was kind of it created a spark that then kind of got pretty wild and things we hadn't seen for a decade.

So on Tuesday 28 February, two trains got into the same track. It was a passenger service going north towards

Stalomiki and a kind of thankfully you might say

although it's little consolation and on the other side a cargo carrier a cargo train so with not with only two passengers
