It's the Liverpool Manchester United rivalry. We've got them playing each other this weekend, but they have played each other for a good long while now, and tempers have flared, and goals been scored and silverware has been won and drama

are you ready to talk about a rivalry that once gave you a lot of joy i presume but now gives you

nothing about pain has that has that been the way it has been recently hey we won the i I think United has won the last three. I think they're on a winning streak right now, Graham. How dare you? How dare you? But it is interesting that you start there. Because in the history of this rivalry, which I don't know if we're calling a derby, we can talk about that later on. It does feel like for one team to be good, the other

must be bad. That seems to be the way it works out on their histories. If one team is having periods

of dominance and winning a bunch of silverware, the other is like barely capable of

functioning on occasion. It's an odd relationship they seem to have. Yeah, they made that deal

with their maker at the time of

the North West Football Big Bang. And so that's the deal that they have to adhere to forevermore.

It was a fiddle competition in the northwest of England. Exactly. That is not quite the origin

of this rivalry. Graham, I actually had not really spent much time reading about the history of these

two clubs and maybe more importantly, these two cities. And so getting to do so was really,

really interesting. And I think a good way of sort of explaining it in the introduction is it's a
