I think this is wise and true. I read a quote from someone saying over the course of a year you can have all the words of the

Bible flashed before your eyes, but that's not as valuable as letting a few verses sink into the substance of who you are.

So sometimes we'll be like, I'll just read all this, I'll just say all these words will come okay.

Stop memorizing some stuff and let it sink in and you can draw on it.

And here's another thing you can do with it. When your brain is going stupid places,

and all of ours do foolish or worse, we take that thought captored by going, okay, this isn't where I want to go in my mind.

Okay, I'm not going to have a vacuum there. I need to fill it with those things.

You start thinking about the stuff you have memorized. Call your heart back to that.

Just the memorization of it.

Yes.

You know what's not easy? I'm not great at memorizing stuff.

Numbers up. Pretty good. That's the point.

The point is not that. The point is it really pays off. It is really worth doing.
