Summary

On this week’s podcast Paul does a deep dive into Statins. He speaks on how they relate to “elevated” LDL and his opinion on who really needs to be taking Statins. He echoes the importance of spotting data manipulation, and digging deep into where the funding of certain studies comes from.

A note from Paul: Throughout my training and practice as a physician I have come to one very disappointing conclusion: Western medicine isn’t helping people lead better lives. Now that I’ve realized this, I’ve become obsessed with understanding what makes us healthy or ill. I want to live the best life I can and I want to be able to share this knowledge with others so that they can do the same. This podcast is the result of my relentless search to understand the roots of chronic disease. If you want to know how to live the most radical life possible I hope you’ll join me on this journey.

If you are thinking about whether or not to take a statin, you must consider this question,

0:03.7

will I live longer and will I live better on that medication? And if the answer is no,

0:08.8

I do not think there's a reason to take that medication and I'm not sure how any physician

0:12.7

or clinical provider or researcher would argue with that. Why would you take a drug which will not

0:17.8

prolong your life and not allow you to live better, especially when there are other ways of improving

0:23.1

your overall health? Well, you guys saved my life. This review from Sal M on bone marrow and liver

0:32.4

and B. Forgans is amazing. I'm going to make a reel out of this and share Sal's story more widely.

He says, I had the most wild experience of the last 10 months or so. I wanted to thank everyone at

0:42.5

Hardin's Whale, especially Paul and Zach, who was a really big health, and I'm really appreciative.

I had a bad case of Asculitis that was supposed to be chronic. I was bound to a wheelchair for

0:52.2

several weeks. I couldn't move my arms or legs. They had me on morphine for pain. I experienced a low

0:58.5

GFR kidney function and gross hematuria and proteinuria. I was prescribed pharmaceutical medications

1:05.0

indefinitely for kidney, rashes, joint conditions. It goes without saying, I'm very thankful. I ran

1:10.7

into your content. I was able to wean off all medication. I began an animal-based diet with the

1:15.6

help of bone marrow and liver, lifeblood and B. Forgans. I know it sounds crazy, but that's what

1:21.5

happened. Not only that, I'm healthier than before. I started on this journey as I am off all

1:26.1

medications. My kidney function is normal. When I go to Asculitis groups, they can't believe it.

1:30.9

It's nothing but horror stories there. The people are on vegetable diets, which I tried for a few

1:35.2

months with no success. They're on a cocktail of drugs like prednisone, dapsone, retoximab, etc.

1:41.0

And in my experience, I was not able to get off of my medications until I completely cut out

1:45.3

the vegetables. Anyway, I hope this is valuable to you. I made a video about this and my whole experience.
