Less than two weeks into getting the mailroom job, I was pulling up to the office on a day that everyone in the office was actually having a meeting about the new releases.

And as I pull into the parking lot, I hear the sound that nobody wants to hear,

especially when they're poor, the sound of a cop car pulling me over right outside of the office.

And the office had these huge windows so everybody could see what was happening outside.

And I got pulled over for not paying a ticket because I had some

ticket that happened like a year earlier and I just didn't pay attention to it because I was a teenager.

Like the teenagers don't really care about that kind of thing.

And I also didn't have an address for them to like get it,

so I don't even know where this ticket went.

But I never paid it, long story short, they threw me up against the cop car right in front of the office and arrested me and took me to jail in Detroit. And I had to stay the whole day there and the whole night there and I was like completely freaking out because it was you know my entire dream my entire life was to get this job and then I was like I totally screwed my

entire life up just by not paying this ticket.
