If you feel hopeless, I understand. Like at a deep level, I understand.

There's so much going on, maybe in your own life, or maybe the cut of the world, I totally get it. That said, here's the way you can address that.

Be really thankful, like pray to God, out loud, if you have to. Just thank God for the things you've had in life.

And then read His promises and about. You can look up His promises, Google them. Like God's promises in the Bible.

That combination of remembering how good He is, and then seeing that He can be trusted in His promises, that's real hope.

Yeah, and I'm not, yeah, this is not just religious happy talk. It's like, if you don't do that, that's not part of where you're coming from.

You're going to struggle with hopelessness. I don't want to tell you, like His promises are good, so hope is a beautiful thing with not many people have it.

Yeah, this had to happen if you think about it. Chick-fil-A just got rid of their side salads.

Okay. Why did that happen?

To me, psychologically, you're either in or you're out. Nobody wants a side. Like, are you going to do a salad?

I'm here for a salad with some chicken on it, or I'm here for some fried chicken with fries. You're not doing it.

Does I know something? No, actually, I don't know anything.

We don't know anything. No one does side salads anymore. They don't.

Okay, it's easy to use a religious sounding talk, and not just sound religious. I don't want to at all.

But when you say, trust God, really mean it. Because when we struggle with anxiety and fear, this is a huge part of moving past that.

And I love how John Pipo wrote about it. He's like, trusting God is an action.

If God was a chef, I would go ahead and eat cooking. If he was a shepherd, I would listen for his voice, and I would follow him.

If he was a rock, I would stand on him. If he was a fortress, I would make my home in there.

God was a river, and I was a tree. I would send my roots out to him.

Like, with my life, I want to interact with him. It's hard for me to perhaps always struggle with praying, but I'm going to trust him. He hears my prayer.
