Hello, everyone. Welcome to Latter Day Struggles. This is Valerie, and I am jumping on here.

Actually, before I start this beautiful series with myself and Christian Anderson, that we actually recorded a couple of weeks ago in anticipation

of, well, he was getting ready to defend his dissertation, and it was an exciting time, and we

just so happened to schedule our conversation at that time. And he happened to tell me that

he felt that his mother, Levina, who we were planning on talking about for this series,

he felt like she was holding on for a few more days to honor him and his wonderful accomplishment

of getting his Ph.D. at Brigham Young University. And sure enough, a couple of weeks passed,

and I received word from Christian that his mother,

Levina, had just passed away. And for that reason, Christian and I decided that we would like

to record just a little bit of, I guess, a preface, or I guess, do you call it an addendum if it's first? But we're going to go

ahead and before you hear this beautiful series that Christian Anderson and I do together
