Listen, if you are a procrastinator just like me, then this episode is for you. It can be so easy to push off big projects or even small tasks because you don't

0:24.0

feel like you're up to it or maybe you're just too busy. But the reality is that we need those

0:29.1

deadlines to help hold us accountable. So in this episode, we're going to give you some tips to

0:33.9

help you stick to those deadlines. But first, speaking of procrastination, no, let's hear a

0:40.2

TSAH from Robin. Robin says, my TSAH is the journal program I've created with my sixth grade English students.

0:48.4

Every two weeks, each section turns in a journal with at least three entries. I read and write a response in every journal.

0:56.3

It's an amazing year-long project that helps me build strong connections with all my students.

1:01.5

But responding to 16 journals at a time with thoughtful notes is a huge time suck. I've planned

but every time I feel like I finally can work on catching up on everything else, I end up with

1:17.8

a pile of journals I need to respond to in a day so the kids can have them back to write their

1:22.7

next set of entries. When I'm rushed and overwhelmed with a massive to-do list, I write much shorter responses,

1:29.7

but the kids are bummed not to get a personalized note. Wow, this one's really hard, Robin,

1:36.7

because I can understand how much of a connection it is making with your students. And I think

1:43.1

you're obviously your students

1:44.8

really appreciate it because when you write those much shorter responses, I can hear that they're,

1:49.6

you know, you said that they're bummed out. But I completely understand where this is such a huge

1:56.4

time suck. And honestly, this is one of the reasons why I don't do it. Because several years ago,

2:01.8

I was the same way. I was just starting fourth grade and I was like, oh my gosh, I want to do a

2:06.2

journal response. I want them to write and I'm going to respond to them and I had 40 kids.

2:11.6

And writing responses to every single student is just not feasible. I mean, it wasn't something
