Hey, everyone. Welcome to the podcast. Today we have Dr. Gary Forsman of Middlepathmedicine.com,

a regular contributor to our podcast. We're here to talk today about vaccines and all

of the issues and benefits behind such a subject. Welcome to the show. It's so good to be with

you, Al. Thanks for coming back. So this area of vaccines has been such a controversial topic

for many years. Even recently in one of the you know the political

campaign someone did mention something where you know trump had made a comment about uh vaccines

causing autism and then he saw it happen then there was a report saying that was a lie out of his

mouth but we do know there are people who have that belief. There are celebrities

out there like Jenny McCarthy who firmly believe that this is why her son was given autism. So

before we get into all of those subjects around vaccines, can you just start off with the basics?

Let us know, like when this was invented, because I know as a doctor, you used to say that this

was one of the things

you guys thought was just a miracle of medicine. And it seems to be the case. But can you explain

what actually is a vaccine and the philosophy behind how that was the medical philosophy

behind how such a thing was created? Of course I can. And Elle, as you know, and for your viewers

out there, I am an internal medicine physician. I was an assistant clinical professor at UC Irvine, and I went to University of Florida Medical School and was part as the thing called a junior honor of medical program. And the only reason to bring that up is, and one of the few doctors who actually had extensive training in terms of how to read research
