What exactly was going on?

So Maxwell Maltz went on to say,

it's no exaggeration to say that every human being is hypnotized to some extent.

Either by ideas he has uncritically accepted from others,

or ideas he has repeated to himself and convinced himself to be true.

We all are hypnotized.

But we don't know where hypnotized.
